FTPmicro is a web-server or ftp-client, as big as a DIP40 package, based on the PIC18F67J60.
Despite the small dimensions, the board has some interesting features:
1) A microSD card slot
2) A TC1047 temperature sensor
3) Many analog and digital I/O pins
4) Microchip TCP/IP stack
5) Connector for the ICD2 programmer/debugger by Microchip
6) DIP40 package, enters perfectly in a socket of a 40 PIN DIL microprocessor.
7) Dimensions (90x20)mm
8) A FAT16 Filesystem is used, so you can realize the web-pages directly on PC and then read by FTPmicro through the SD memory.
9) FREE EXAMPLES & Open Source CODE
EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION:
FLEX is an embedded board which can be used by all the developers who want to fully exploit the potential of the latest Microchip micro-controllers: the dsPIC DSC family.
FLEX is born as a development board where to easily develop and test real-time applications for the Microchip dsPIC DSC micro-controller. The main features of FLEX are:
* robust electronic design;
* modular architecture;
* availability of a growing number of application notes;
* the full support of the Erika Enterprise real-time kernel from Evidence Srl.

Do you want to receive an automatic e-mail when is verified an event from any remote site?
Sending the e-mails with the PIC is simple and efficient thanks to FTPmicro and the new version stack 4.11 by Microchip.

In this example, we want to use the new TCP/IP stack functionalities to permit to FTPMicro to send an e-mail to verify an event.
The proposed code, is based on the example code available for FTPmicro, for which,
was employed in an older version from the stack.
In particular, we had a web page through which was possible to monitor the device temperature and modify the LED condition. At this will be added (for ease) a new button to send the e-mails, but we'll see that will be possible to effectuate the sending in an automatic way.
The firmware is available...
Unfortunately there isn't a version of FOX Board SDK that can runs on Windows. The easiest way to do that is to use a Virtual Machine like VMWare that can runs a Linux systems on your desktop. Fortunately VMWare release a free version of a player that can runs prebuilt images of ready to use operative systems.
From this page you can download a VMWare image with Linux Debian Sarge 3.1 and the complete FOX Board SDK already installed.
