PMBus online design tool

The newest addition to our online design center, the PIP8000 tool is the industry's first web-based design and monitoring solution for power management ICs compliant with current PMBus protocol specifications. Our PIP8000 is a powerful PMBus compliant digital power supervisor IC. Designers can use it to customize their design requirements virtually, significantly reducing development time. Providing easy access to the powerful configuration capabilities of NXP's PIP8000 power-supply interface, it lets designers configure, sequence, and monitor power supplies using PMBus commands.

Through a USB interface, the tool automatically locates all connected PMBus devices, and controls and monitors the power management application. Using a wide range of PMBus commands the user can quickly adjust voltage and current settings, control fan speed and monitor the power management system's thermal behavior.

PMBus online design tool capabilities

* Configurable GUI, automatically locates all connected PMBus devices with verified PIP8000 defaults
* User command and graph viewing include: voltage, current, fans, and thermals
* Fan controls allow switch-on/switch-off of up to two fans, as well as reading the fan speeds in RPM
* Instruct PIP8000 behavior during power-up and power-down
* Create custom macros based on the PMBus commands
* Support of linear and direct mode data formats, switched in real time
