System Analysis
PROGSEL is able to perform the analysis studies at system level by using:
- the own experience
- SW simulator based on math instruments like Matlab or SW packages developed for this purpose
- Also environment analysis can be conducted via mechanical simulator (finite elements analysis) or test on representative models Design
Analogue or digital design can be carried out by PROGSEL:
- the analogue one come from few volts up to hundred, from few Hz up to 500MHz, from few Watts up to Kwatts
- The digital one come from few Hz up to 500MHz, special considerations for high speed serial link (up to 3GHz bandwidth).
- SW design by using the state of art languages and operating systems, giving to the customer the visibility of how the real system will work

Development
For the equipment development PROGSEL can use:
- State of art CAE, standard we use ORCAD for both schematic capture and PCB documentation. If required by the customer we can use DXP, EAGLE or ViewLogic
- AUTOCAD for mechanical parts, again if needed we can use 3d CAD
- Microsoft Office for standard documentation
- C/C++ (on Windows or Linux), LabView or CVI (for test station) embedded C environments depending by the micro
- VHDL for CPLD and FPGA

PROGSEL is partner of some other companies for:
- PCB manufacturing
- Component acquisition
- PCB mounting
- PCB integration in the unit (if any) and testing. For test PROGSEL can develop the test station or programs for automatic test unit. PROGSEL is doing the test activity for third part also

Follow-on & Update
PROGSEL is able to follow the customer needs not only during the development phase but during the equipment life also.
This will be done solving the obsolence in different way:
- Component search in the world
- Component change finding equivalent (if any)
- Component replacement modifying the circuit or developing a piggy component to be hosted in the same PCB
- PCB modification

HW Technology
- Analogue system:
Signal management from DC to 500MHz (amplifier, A/D and D/A converters, signal conditioning)
Power conversion (AC->DC and DC->DC) and power distribution systems, with power ranging up to some KWatts, power factor corrction with efficency up to 99%
- Digital Systems:
from DC to 500MHz by using:
- Discrete VLSI
- Micro-processors and micro-controller and DSP (8bit family like PIC, 8051-..., 32 bit like ARM from ST, NXP ATMEL and Freescale,
DSP like TI and Analog-Devices)
- Programmable logic both CPLD and FPGA up to 1Mequivalent gate (famili STRATIX, CYCLONE II and III)
- Numerical handling of converted analogue signals by using DSP and/or FPGA

FW Technology
- Embedded C/C++ language with or without operating system (for OS like WindowsCE or Linux)
- More specific C/C++ language for DSP
- VHDL for CPLD and FPGA

SW Technology
- Windows (including the embedded version also)
- Linux (including the real time extension)
- VxWorks

The PROG.S.EL company was born in 2003 e starting from that time it worked on the electronic design for the main Defence companies in Rome. Engineers inside the company have more than 25 years experience spent in the Italian Defence field (today PROGESL is one of state of art supplier of them).
