The directive 89/336/CEE on the electomagnetic compatibility prescribe that all the electrics/electronics equipments must function correct in the ambient where operate, so mustn't be influenced by the disturbs produced by others equipments and these mustn't generate disturbs that prejudice the functioning of others equipments.
The directive 98/37/CEE (directive machine) prescribe the safety required for the machines, equipments and components in general.
The directive 73/23/CEE (Bassa tensione) can be considered part of the machines directive and prescribes the electronics safety required.
