* Remove the personal identification number (PIN) by inserting the SIM card in a common cellular phone.
* Insert the SIM into the GSM module, placed in the back of IperSMS, until of the release of spring connector.

* Connect the 9 pin serial cable from a part to IperSMS and the other to the PC in a 9 pin serial port available (ex. COM1).

* Open, on your PC, the Hyperterminal program clicking in the relative link that you can find in : START->all programs - > accessories - > communications - > Hyperterminal
(If in your PC it is not present Hyperterminal, you must install it from the cd of your Windows operating system).
* Create a new session and rename it for example IperSMS.

* Set up the communication port based on where the serial cable is connected (ex. COM1) and then configure the port with the following parameters: Bit per second: 9600; Data bits: 8; Parity: None; Stop bits:1; Flow control: None;

* On this point Hyperterminal will set off. (Check if connected and the timer on the left are displayed).

* Feed IperSMS connecting the net adapter and verify the ignition of the LED near to the feeding connector.

* Verify the communication between IperSMS and Hyperterminal and the corrected installation, looking at the screen of your PC.

* From now on you can automatically receive on your PC the SMS sent on your SIM card.

* The SMS will be received in international format as indicated:
+CMGR: "REC UNREAD" - Message NOT read, yet
"+393356591358" - Phone number where the message was sent from, in international format
+39 = Italia, therefore we also know the country
"06/09/21,19:35:23+08" - YEAR/MONTH/DAY,HOUR:MINUTES:SECONDS+GMT+15MINUTES
The time zone is correct only if we are in the same time zone as the SMS sender,
otherwise we must adjuste to GMT) (in reference to Greenwich Main Time (GMT) is in 15 minutes steps, in the case of this example 08 x 15 = 120minutes = 2hours, in fact we are one hour ahead of London and in the period of the example we are also in standard time)
OK - End of message
General notes:
Service Center
Some operators supply the SIM-CARD with the number of the Service Center already stored. In contrary case insert the SIM in a cellular phone and enter the number of the Service Center (in case of need refer to the operator).
GSM coverage
The correct use of IperSMS is subordinated to the quality of the GSM coverage present in the installation zone
