Hi, my name is Eduardo Companio. I’m from the Galileo University in Guatemala and I’m the first prize winner from the canyourtbadgedothis contest. I want to show you my application. It is an electronic sketch similar to a toy that many of you might be familiar with. So let’s look at it.

Now the idea is that the knobs are located in the outside board. So, if you want to scroll left and right, you would move this knob, so you slide this upwards. Of course if you want to move to the right, you should slide downwards. Same here. If you want to go up or down you should slide up for going up and slide it down to go down. Let’s see it. It has sound and we are also going to be able to hear it. Let’s try it. That’s a splash screen. All right. This lib shows you the, if there is an error in the process. If you try to work outside the screen, it will show you a red blink. So, let’s move it. Let’s move it to the right. Let’s move it up to the left or right. Up. Let’s try and get out of the screen. It shows you can’t do it. Let’s go to the left. Down, okay. Left and if you shake it, it pierce in the screen. So that’s very much it.

So how did you come up with this idea?

Well, I went to sleep the night of Monday and well before that I was chatting with my girlfriend and we were trying to figure out what to do and we couldn’t collaborate. But just before I went to bed, I just thought of it and thought it would be okay.

How long did it take you to complete this?

It took me about 6 hours if you take all the time together. I did it in the recesses between hands on workshop and conferences. So, it was tough but I think it was like six hours.

What kind of challenges did you face when designing with your badge board?

Well the only thing that I can think of right now was the infra red LED that the board has because of manufacturing problems and it was backwards. You couldn’t actually use it on this. So we took it out and turn it backwards.

Did you have fun?

Oh yeah.
