This video is the 8th in a series of videos which show a progression of an FPGA based Wireless Data Acquisition System.
This is a software application which takes in serial (RS-232) data and displays it in real-time on the PC. The serial data is first sent from the FPGA to a wireless transmitter. The receiving end is responsible for amplification and formatting. The resultant signal is fed into the PC's serial port. The video is best explained in the presentation slides and report on the project site: http://www.ece.utk.edu/~ddarby/index.php?level_0=Projects&level_1=Hardwa...

The Yokogawa SB5000 is a 1.0GHz mixed signal oscilloscope-based serial bus analyzer. It can troubleshoot the physical and protocol layers for FlexRay, CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, UART, general serial, and parallel signals. For more info, please visit http://www.yokogawa.com/tm/sb/sb5000/tm-sb5000_01.htm
This is an Atmega32+DS18B20 temperature logger with RS232 serial interface. The device can measure temperature with DS18B20 1-Wire digital thermometer with desired sampling frequency, and log the measurements with time and date (provided by PCF8583 backed up by 3V battery)) on the 8kb I2C serial EEPROM memory. All functions and configurations can be done with terminal software (HyperTerminal). Within the main menu of the device you can change the sampling rate , set the date and time, download the measurements to txt file suitable for MS Excell input, and erase the I2C memory if desired. One screenshot represents the main menu in a terminal software program, and the other one shows an Excell chart of about 500 measurements with 5s sampling period
For a school project I've built a small USB-Device for measuring voltages (due my notebook has no LPT/COM anymore).
The Firmware is almost completely from www.obdev.at.
On PC-side libusb, #libusb (wrapper) and C# has been used.
Great software will just follow ;)
This video shows a little experience I did at home to track a cell phone thought its unique Bluetooth Address.
The laptop runs a Java SE App using project Marge (http://marge.dev.java.net ) and Avetana JSR-82 implementation (http://sourceforge.net/projects/avetana bt/ )and tracks the configured Bluetooth Device. When the device is found a signal is sent by USB cable to the Arduino board (http://www.arduino.cc ), which interprets the signal and turn on the LED.
A home-made Osciloscope with ADC and PC Parallel Port.
On the video, the input is a Music from Computer Sound Card out.
