CES2009 ARM Powered Samsung DTVs running Yahoo! Widgets
By Coderstohire May 30th, 2009

Hi this is John Donald ARM’s roving reporter at the 2009 Consumer Electronics show. I am talking to Kevin Kendora from Samsung. As I understand Kevin Samsung TVs are very interesting things with Yahoo widgets on Samsung digital television which like the ad we are running on our ARM1176 processor but can you tell us what are the benefits to consumers? Why do I care about widgets? And can you show me since it’s probably easier to show us than talk about it. |

TI OMAP 3430- Handle HD Video for Smartphones
By DebasisDas May 29th, 2009
|
Rumored Video is everywhere. You would like to see HD video at that. So why not on the mobile device we like to carry everywhere. Compressed video processing takes a lot of processing power. on Phones we already have a lot of functions being managed by processors, yet we need long time between charges. What processors can handle all that! OMAP 3430 from TI is reputed to be one such gadget. Palm Pre already uses it, so does models of Sony Ericsson SmartPhones. Apple is rumored to be considering it for the next upgrade. So what is it like!! |
