Hello, my name is Stefan. Hello, my name is Bieck. We are engineers at Freescale and we want to show you our Airbag demo.
This is the Airbag demo car. It is a small car model which presents all airbag sensor system used in modern safe cars. The main part of the air bag demo is electronic control unit board in the center of the car with S developed microprocessor, central X Y accelerometer MMA6255EG, DSI bus master, and ZIGBEE radio for wireless communication with PC. There are another 6 small sensor boards in the same position like in the real car, 250G accelerometers, MMAA205EG at the front part of the car for the front impact detection, 240G accelerometers MMA8104EG and 2 pressure sensors PPX84008 at both sides of the car for the side impact detection. Pressure sensors are in the plastic cells simulating space inside the car doors and the pressure sensors are used for sooner impact detection. The acu board communicates with all sensors boards by 2 wires via side bus. There is possibility to read analog values from sensors during crash test. Acu board collects data from each sensor and transmits to the computer by ZIGBEE protocol.
So now we are ready to test. Car is rolling down the track against barrier. When the car hits the barrier, measured data from each sensor is transferred to graphical user interface where the data is displayed in the charts and front impact is signalized.
Truck is rolling down the track and impacting inside of the car. When the truck hits the car measured data from each sensor is transferred to graphical use interface where the data is displayed in the charts and the side impact is signalized. Data from all sensors are displayed in performance charts.
