This Application note describes how to use the M58BW016FT/B in applications based on the M58BW016DT/B Flash memories. This Application note should be read in conjunction with the product datasheet, M58BW016, which covers both Flash memories. The M58BW016FT/B was developed by STMicroelectronics as an evolution of the M58BW016DT/B, which is present in many of today’s automotive applications. More specifically, it was developed for applications that will remain in volume production in the medium to the long term. By migrating to the M58BW016FT/B these applications will benefit from the advantages of an automotive burst Flash memory shrink, with reduced qualification effort and, no software or hardware change to implement.
