CE Marking and 89/336 Directive
It was a dark stormy night when the communitarian directive 89/336 was acknowledged by the single European states (in Italy from the Decree Legislative 476/92).
The electromagnetic compatibility was becoming a problem!
The Managers jumped from their chairs, the Officials were groping in the dark, the Consultants "invented" a new professional figure, someone began to print small CE marks in quantities and..... for the Project Managers the DUTY (MUST) to solve the problems of Immunity and Emission. In a hurry, immediately, indeed... they have must already previewed it!
Certainly who had already planned in military, railway or avionics, was very aware of the normative aspects, and also who planned professional electronic circuits with a discreet budget at disposition, but all the others?
Fortunately the Chamber of Commerce (in Italy) has intervened with a circular paper...
From then the directives and the laws were many (You can find a history here) and fortunately much clarity has been made.
Here is the European Directive 89/336 however point of departure in order "to understand" the CE Marking.
In collaboration with Eng. Damia, responsible of the CE Laboratory, I introduce a tutorial in order to respect the EMC directives and therefore to obtain CE Mark (CE Marking)
